Pelicans on Lake Nasser

Desert Nomads co-existing with nature

Explore a unique desert lake on a small boat cruise, an adventure which has few comparisons.

You can start on any day of the year and come for as long as you like with a range of options from 2 nights & 3 days upward, just what you need to include into the itinerary you are planning for Egypt and get a break from crowded mainland Egypt.

Focus on what you are most interested in. The Nubian monuments, the nomads or the biodiversity and scenery of a massive freshwater lake located in the middle of the largest desert on our planet.

’’Our objective is to offer affordable first class holidays personalized to small groups of individuals and families who would like a break from crowded tourist sites and experience Egypt from a unique perspective”

The focal point is your Mother Ship with an experienced crew. Our concept of having an independent Mother Ship unit taking care of catering and recreation is unique on Lake Nasser. Leaving you free to explore the lake in your own House Boat or Safari Boat then for meals and overnight link up with the Mother Ship.

Cruise ships are too cumbersome to manoeuvre in shallower water where all the action is.

Our live aboard House Boats and Safari Boats are perfect for getting a close-up experience of this spectacular desert lake. You have your own English speaking Nubian guide, most of our guides have been with us for seventeen years or longer and know the lake intimately, they will take you to see what you are most interested in. If your main interest are the Nubian Monuments keep in mind our guides are not qualified Egyptologists.

There is an excellent book  called – Guide to the Nubian Monuments on Lake Nasser – printed by The American University in Cairo Press. You will find this book in book shops at airports and up market hotel book shops. If you would like a copy let us know and we will get one for you.

Explore the lake’s shore line with its captivating environment and prolific bird life. Water has washed away the top soil to reveal fossils of bygone eras. Also, Stone Age drawings and hieroglyphics, carved by ancient Egyptians on their trading expeditions can be found.

The weather is always sunny; most areas have not seen any rain for many, many years.

After a day exploring the lake, while you are relaxing on the Mother Ship sipping sundowners, watch spectacular desert sunsets followed by a night sky full of brilliantly bright stars; there is no light pollution from cities, a natural phenomenon few people have experienced.

At night, when the lights have been turned off the area comes alive; Gerbils scouting around for leftovers; desert foxes or golden jackals are also likely to be searching for titbits we sometimes leave out for them.
